While the FAA only requires a minim of 40 hours (part 61) to become a private pilot the national average is indicating a higher total. Let’s face it most of us are not just only flying we have other things going on in our lives, that demand our attention school, families, etc. Flying is a perishable skill that is why it is suggested to fly at least 2-3 times a week to keep your skills up. We also suggest chair flying the maneuvers and scenarios as much as possible. This is great to do after a flight before a flight and while the weather is not ideal to fly.
